This year, Audi decided to celebrate its five R8 LMS wins since 2012 at Nürburgring (which Jackie Stewart first referred to as the “Green Hell”) with a limited R8 “Green Hell” Commemorative Edition. Per Audi’s Julius Seebach, the Green Hell Edition “draws on the proximity to motorsport, while also paying tribute to our legendary victories on the Nürburgring.”
Performance-wise the Audi R8 Green Hell is exactly the same as the 611-horsepower R8 V10 Performance. Its body has a special Tioman Green finish with details in matte black and red. The interior features Green Hell logos, blue-green (Kailash Fern) contrast stitch work, Alcantara trim material and lightweight seats.
Only 50 cars are available for sale across the entire planet at approximately $275,000 each. Sadly, Audi’s Mark Dahncke told Motor Authority this week that the German automobile manufacturer has no intention of bringing the R8 Green Hell to the United States “at this time.”
At Shaus Motorsport, we know our clients love to hear the latest about their favorite automotive manufacturers and new models. Although the Green Hell isn’t available in the States, it’s still possible to customize your Audi vehicle.
